Many of you already know that I lived and worked in Melbourne, Australia for a year from July 2015 to June 2016. While I was there I began writing a biweekly column/blog which became known as the Letter from Melbourne and was picked up as a regular feature in the World Postings for the Huffington Post.
I was mostly interested in contrasting the differences between two overtly very similar societies, American and Australian. Both were English speaking, originally attached to Great Britain, capitalist/market economies. However, the more time I spent Down Under the more differences (even just in language) I noticed. In particular, while I expected to be a medical provider in Melbourne, events developed so that I became a patient as well.
In any case even though only a few of the articles directly involve healthcare (and ADHD), you still may find the series of interest. Therefore I will be creating a permanent link on the docdiller.com website to the archive of these blogs on the Huffington Post. In the meantime you can find these stories at http://www.huffingtonpost.com/author/lawrence-diller-273. Scroll down to the bottom of the page if you want to read the pieces in chronological order. There are now over two dozen articles on the site. Please leave your comments directly at the Huffington Post page but if you prefer you can also contact me through this website as well.
